Steps

  1. Something happened overnight

    The Doodle's been up to something; the evidence is right there.

  2. Write the adventure

    What happened? The class writes the Doodle's adventure.

  3. Tell it back

    Retell the adventure: beginning, middle, end.

Tips

  • K-1: a three-part picture retell.
  • Grades 2-3: sequence it with transition words.
  • Grades 4-5: summarize with key details.
